STEMx Celebrates 2024 Pathways Awardees
Awards range from improving early neuroscience lab experiences to designing capstone opportunities in integrative biology.

The Office of STEM Education Excellence is pleased to announce the second cohort of Pathways Grant awardees. Eight Pathways Fellows will be funded to work on five projects over the next two years. Please join us in congratulating the following awardees.
Jessica Chancey, Neuroscience
Chancey will research and propose paths for early lab experiences in neuroscience, incorporating insights from the literature and UT faculty and leadership.
Jonathan Partridge, Molecular Biosciences
Partridge will assess students’ attainment of program learning outcomes (PLOs) by building a suite of project-based assignments and tracking student outcomes through Canvas.
Jessica Wandelt, Undergraduate Education
Wandelt will build a community to support collaboration between CNS faculty and staff who train and work with undergraduate course assistants, peer-mentors, and learning assistants.
Goheun Kim and Hyunju Kim, Molecular Biosciences
Goheun and Hyunju will aggregate tools that support students’ career exploration and create novel course assignments designed to increase students’ awareness of and preparation for a variety of careers.
Laura Gonzalez, Nolan Bentley and Aleah Henderson-Carter, Integrative Biology
Gonzalez, Bentley and Henderson-Carter will assess potential capstone experiences and work with faculty to provide recommendations for capstones that could be implemented in Integrative Biology.
