STEMx is pleased to announce a special call to support CNS faculty and staff who would like to explore, assess, and share effective uses of AI in undergraduate teaching and learning. Applications will be accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis through January 2027, for implementation during the 2026–2027 academic year.
This call offers two ways to participate:
Option 1: Pilot & Assess AI Projects — $2,500
For faculty testing a new AI-related teaching idea. A $2,500 grant supports AI implementation in an instructional setting, with the goal of helping students develop AI literacy and fluency.
As part of this award, you will:
- Pilot the idea in a course or activity
- Collect data on its impact (a common assessment survey will be provided)
- Prepare the resource for dissemination online
- Present the work at a University event
- Engage in conversation with fellow awardees
Student partner incentive: Engaging an AI-interested student assistant to support project execution and evaluation can advance the project while incorporating a valuable student perspective. An additional $500 for student stipends will be allocated to projects that incorporate an undergraduate partner.
Option 2: Dissemination of Prior AI Projects — $1,000
For faculty and staff who have already implemented an AI-related teaching practice and are interested in sharing their resources and findings. Awardees will use a provided template to prepare their work for dissemination as an open access resource, facilitated by the Office of STEM Education Excellence.
Questions
- What if additional time or additional funds are required?
